Job Overview
Navient is hiring a Loan Processor II to review and process loan applications across multiple lending products, including student loan refinancing, personal loans, and student loan originations. This role involves evaluating applicant information, verifying supporting documentation, and helping borrowers move efficiently through the loan approval process.
In addition to processing applications, you’ll communicate directly with customers by phone and email to gather information, answer questions, and provide support throughout the lending journey. This position is well-suited for professionals with consumer lending experience who enjoy analytical work, financial review, and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Review loan applications and supporting financial documentation
- Verify applicant identity and validate submitted information
- Analyze income, expenses, credit details, and other qualifying data
- Communicate with borrowers by phone and email to obtain information and provide updates
- Input and maintain accurate application data within company systems
- Assist with audits, compliance requests, and operational projects
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
- Report system issues and provide feedback on internal tools
- Participate in ongoing training and knowledge development
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 2–3 years of experience reviewing consumer credit applications
- Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills
- Ability to interpret complex financial and identity documentation
- Knowledge of consumer lending practices and fraud risks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to navigate multiple systems and applications efficiently
