Job Overview
UnitedHealthcare is hiring a Senior Claims Representative to review and manage Short Term Disability claims for members nationwide. In this role, you’ll evaluate claim forms, medical documentation, eligibility information, and vocational records to determine whether disability benefits should be approved and administered.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate Short Term Disability claims
- Determine initial liability and eligibility for disability benefits
- Analyze medical, vocational, and supporting documentation
- Manage a caseload of new and ongoing disability claims
- Issue benefit payments in accordance with company policies and regulations
- Communicate claim decisions and next steps to claimants
- Utilize medical, legal, and vocational resources to support claim management
- Maintain accurate claim records and documentation
- Meet productivity, quality, and service standards
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 1 year reviewing and rendering Short Term Disability claim decisions
- Minimum of 1 year issuing payments on disability claims
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple claims and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
